It will also be interesting to study middle-aged animals over a period of 1-2 years. I think we'll find that telomere erosion occurs in "bursts" rather than as a continuous process. The old saw about "he aged 10 years in a night" will turn out to be somewhat true. Then we'll study the mechanism of "aging bursts" and identify interventions.
