What the world needs: a divided thickness blanket
Forget "sleep numbers". At a certain age and level of entropy, the marital challenge is not mattress firmness, it's temperature. A particular gender is intermittently far too hot, another is shivering.
The answer, of course, is a variable thickness blanket. One half designed for insulation and warmth, the other a wicking material that provides cool comfort.
I guess the obvious question is why not give one party a (twin-sized) blanket and the other party a (twin-sized) sheet? There is no eternal rule that says a couple must always share the same blanket. :)
I don't know any blanket makers, but it seems that a lot could be done with pre-existing blankets/sheets, some thick thread, and a heavy-duty sewing machine.
Seek out quilting groups in your area and they could probably help you out with a few minutes of work.
It might even look good with the right color combinations. :)

ReplyDeleteThat's what we do now, but it tends to bunch and separate.
ReplyDeleteKnow any blanked makers :-)?
