The use of a font where these two characters have the same appearance is a data crime and should be punished by audit: lI.

This is one of the worries with Unicode. There are a lot more characters that share a glyph in the Unicode world, so you think you are going to bank.com but really are going to {beta}ank.com. And now they know your bank.com password.
